KENT COTTAGE

We are located in Middleham, Leyburn, Lower Wensleydale. Middleham dates back to roman times, although it is more well known for being the home of 12th century Middleham Castle where Richard III once lived it is also quite famous for having 4 pubs in one village.

Kent Cottage is a beautiful 1-bedroom early 1800's stone cottage,  decorated throughout in subtle Little Greene paint Co. colours. Our ground floor is stone and underfloor heated and the first floor has bespoke oak flooring from the fabulous Main Company.

Bedroom

The heated stone floor bedroom has a luxurious double bed, handmade in Yorkshire which is made up with sumptuous crisp white bed linen, rather stylish 'Pooky' bedside wall lights and USB sockets are there for your convenience along with handmade cushions and finishing touches from Cox & Cox. There is oak furniture and a seperate wardrobe.

Bathroom
The bathroom, totally renovated in February 2022 has Burlington fixtures and a large walk in shower enclosure with rainfall shower and superb pressure, tiled in a rather relaxing yet traditional light cream colour. Our towels are huge fluffy white bath sheets and our bathroom products, are from The Bath House Shop in Cumbria.

Living Space
The living space is unusually upstairs, with the most breathtaking vaulted ceiling with orignal oak A frame and velux windows. There is a cosy large 3 seater sofa in thick tweedlike fabric, essential for a snooze by the wood burning fire which has a beautiful oak surround. A wall mounted smart TV, heavy bespoke Laura Ashley curtains and brand new solid wood country style kitchen with locally source brass handles and granite worktops really finish off the open plan space perfectly.

Outside
In the centre of Middleham, but peacefully tucked away down a private lane, you will have peace and quiet,  other than occasionally hearing the faint clip clop off the horses and jockeys going to train.

Welcome Hamper
On arrival you will find a welcome Hamper, with hand chosen wine (choosing was a tough job, but somebody had to do it), cheese, milk, fresh local bread, eggs and local treats for both human and our four-legged family friend.

After you have booked with us will send all the detailed house amenities to help you pack lighter, and very soon on our website, to save you the hassle of researching,  you will find details of local pub recommendations, detailed walks, where to shop and things to do in the local area. Did we mention there are 4 pubs just 1 minute walk from the cottage?

The house is on a private lane, you can drive to the front door of the cottage to load/unload. However parking is on the village square (a large cobbled area just 1 minute from the cottage).
Bus route is the 159 Bus route Richmond through to Ripon (the most scenic bus route ever!)
